    This album was recorded April-May 2018 on a Zoom R8 digital recorder. It was recorded in an RV named Nancy, in a van next to the ocean, in Tilden Regional Park, and in a certain big-box music store that shall remain nameless.

    By Horseback is the first full-length album released by Normal Bird in 2021. Recorded at home during the COVID lockdown, By Horseback is an eclectic blend of genres and styles that merge to form a singular vision.

About The Band

Normal Bird is the musical project of Whit Whitman. In 2018, while living in an RV, Whit recorded To/From Nancy on a Zoom R8 8-track recorder over the span of a month. This was their first self-recorded project and set a precedent of how things would work moving forward.
